Presidents of Iran and Pakistan meet

Dr Raisi: Cultural religious commonality between the two nations strengthens ties lays groundwork for deepening ties/ Emphasis on maintaining stability security as a requirement for achieving economic goals/ Asif Ali Zardari: Pakistani authorities determined to open a new chapter in relations with Iran

In continuation of his travel plans to Pakistan on Monday evening, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi had a meeting with the President of the country, Asif Ali Zardari, and mentioned the religious, cultural and civilisational commonalities of the two nations of Iran and Pakistan as important factors in strengthening ties and laying the groundwork for the development and deepening of relations between two countries.
The President continued by emphasising the determination of the high officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan to develop and improve the level of trade and economic relations, and stated that maintaining stability and security is one of the conditions and requirements for the realisation of economic goals.
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers Pakistan's security as its own security, the President emphasised the need to use the capacity and opportunity of the common borders between the two countries for the benefit of the two nations.
Dr Raisi also referred to the issue of Palestine as the first issue of the Islamic world, which has now become the first issue of the world of humanity, and said, “Today, Imam Khomeini's lofty goal of liberating the Holy Quds has become the demand of all free Muslim nations and all Islamic governments must fulfil their duties in this field”.
In this meeting, the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari also considered the love and affection of the two nations of Iran and Pakistan for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), especially Imam Reza (AS), as the reason for deepening the brotherhood between the two countries, and emphasised his country's interest in developing and improving relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields, and emphasised the will of Pakistani officials to open a new chapter of relations with Iran in this regard.
The President of Pakistan also condemned the crimes committed by the usurping Zionist regime against the defenceless people of Gaza and emphasised the opposition of the Pakistani government to any foreign interference in the region.
