Speech delivered by Dr. Amir Abdullahian, distinguished Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jeddah

The speech of Dr. Amir Abdullahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with the presence of the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.

Mr. President,

Dear colleagues, brothers and sisters,

First of all, I would like to thank the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for holding an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. I would like to thank Mr. Hossein Ebrahim Taha, the Secretary General, and his colleagues for organizing such important meeting.

Undoubtedly, the issue of Palestine today has become the axis of the unity of the Islamic world and the concept of the ideal of defending the cultural and civilizational identity of the first Qibla of Muslims in the world against the repeated aggression of the occupying Zionist regime. Unfortunately, the Zionist occupation regime, with the full support of the United States of America and some Western governments, has committed war crimes, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, racial discrimination, and the crime of genocide against the oppressed Palestinian people. America is responsible for these crimes.

The action of Israel's child-killing regime in bombing a hospital in Gaza last night and martyring around 1,000 civilians, patients and medical staff is not compatible with any logic. Who believes that the resistance used such an advanced bomb.

Today, in all the embassies of the Islamic Republic of Iran abroad, the Iranian flag is at half-mast as a sign of solidarity and respect for the recent martyrs of Palestine, and Iran has declared today a day of public mourning. Dear colleagues, implementation of the continuous policy of usurping Palestinian lands, the continuation of settlement construction, mass killings, destruction of people's houses and farms, arresting and torturing men and women and even children, controlling and cutting off electricity and water sources in Palestine, and desecrating the Al-Aqsa Mosque, are only a part of the inhumane crimes and actions of the occupying regime of Al-Quds. They even insult the religious ceremonies of Christians.

Dear Ministers,

The foundation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was and is based on the objective of Palestine, and Palestine and Holy Quds Sharif must remain the first issue of the Islamic world. There is no doubt that the Al-Aqsa storm operation proved that the Palestinian goal is still alive. Undoubtedly, Palestine, after Al-Aqsa storm will be different from the past Palestine. The future belongs to the Palestinian women, men and children.

 Mr. President,

In line with practical and effective measures to support the Palestinian nation, the proposals of the Islamic Republic of Iran are as follow:

1. To Coordinate efforts of the Islamic countries to immediately stop the war crimes and massive killings of civilians, especially women and children in the Gaza Strip by the Zionist regime.

2.Action of Islamic countries to open the routes of sending humanitarian aid to the people under the siege of Gaza, especially medical and health aid, food, drinking water and fuel.

3.The necessity of political and economic embargo on the Zionist regime by Islamic countries.

4.Establishing a war crime court for Zionist regime warmongers, pilots, army commanders and political officials which should be on the agenda of the member states.

5.Submitting the request of the member states to the United Nations Security Council in order to implement the provisions of the approved resolutions in support of the right to self-determination of the Palestinian nation and condemning the construction of settlements in the occupied territories.

6.Activation of the ambassadors of the member states of the organization in Geneva in order to pursue the international law for addressing the crimes of the Zionist regime with international institutions, especially the Human Rights Council.

7.Action of the organization's secretariat to create an archive of documentation of war crimes and violations of human rights and international humanitarian law of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people in order to be used in future actions in international courts.

8.Sending a delegation from Islamic countries to Gaza with the aim of investigating the humanitarian situation and the war crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

9.Forming a legal group of jurists of the Islamic world to provide legal support to the Palestinian people and to prosecute Israeli perpetrators and commanders and war criminals including soldiers, politicians and pilots who are responsible for killing Palestinian civilians.

10.We strongly condemn any forced displacement of the residents of Gaza and consider it as another war crime by the Zionist regime, and such crime against humanity must be stopped immediately.

11.Now the time has come, for the Islamic countries, to terminate their relations with the regime and boycott the products produced by this criminal regime, as a sign of practical protest against the war crimes of the Zionist apartheid regime.

12.Religious figures and Christian centers, especially the Vatican, are expected to take effective measures to immediately stop the war crimes in Gaza and the attack on Christian and Islamic holy places in Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine.
